Our piano department says:

"This piano uses the same Austrian solid spruce wood found in Bechstein concert grand pianos.  Many other digital piano manufacturers use wooden edges on their keys but very few use solid wooden keys that are also individually weighted.  So when customers ask "which digital piano feels most like an acoustic" this one certainly has to be considered.  You get the stunning sounds of 3 grand pianos to choose from: Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna so you'll never be lost for musical inspiration!"

Genuine responsive action of a grand piano

Casio and C. Bechstein. They both know that the way a piano feels to play - it’s a deal breaker. So you’ll notice the subtle touches on the Casio GP310 that make it a privilege to play. The 88 full sized keys are made from high grade Austrian Spruce. The very same you would find on the revered C. Bechstein concert grand pianos.

The beautifully weighted keys also connect to real key hammers. These give you the most distinguishable and responsive feel when you play. Casio made sure the construction and action of the hammers follow the same principles of those found on grand pianos. The authentically weighted keys and grand piano action result in the nuances and expressions of your playing all being there, right where you expect them.

Original technology to improve sound

At its best – technology elevates an experience. Which is exactly what Casio and C. Bechstein ensured when they developed the GP310. The ‘Grand Acoustic Sound System’ gives you three distinctive grand piano tones. They are the result of the meticulous study of three exceptional pianos from Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna.

The Berlin grand piano style is notable for its balanced sound, up and down the keyboard. The Hamburg style for its hugely rich and brilliant sound. With the Vienna style standing out for its low end focus – delivering the embracing warmth they’re known for.

The built in ‘Hall Simulator’ can accentuate those characteristics. It lets you use the acoustic characteristics of notable concert halls, opera houses, and cathedrals from around the world. Giving you the atmospheric reverberations and subtleties from each place. Casio intensely analysed and processed the shape and sound of these spaces, so that the resulting sound is beyond reproach.

Carefully designed speakers

The carefully composed sound of the GP310 is delivered by a bespoke amp and speaker system. Designed to fully realise the potential of the technology in the GP310. Its six speakers effectively spread the sound of the piano across entire rooms. Giving you the unmistakable, rich sound of a grand piano.

The thing is. You can’t always play at full volume. This is where the GP310 has two key advantages. First, a headphone mode, simply put, you get the entire experience in your headphones – so you can practise in absolute silence. Second, a Volume Sync EQ means that when playing out loud, you get the full, uncompromised sound at every volume level.

Empowered by an on-board computer

The hybrid nature of the GP310 means you still get practical digital features. Coming with USB ports which allow you to record directly to flash drives or into a computer. MIDI inputs and outputs that let you use the GP310 as a MIDI controller, along with the traditional ¼ inch input and outputs. You can even record straight onto the piano itself thanks to a built-in audio recorder.

To make the GP310 even more flexible, 26 extra tones are included in the sound library. Containing string sections, basses, and organs – you can quickly layer up your sound. Combined with the 256 note polyphony, you’ll be able to simply record demos.

Delivering your new piano

How are you going to get your new instrument home? Digital pianos are supplied to us flat-packed in boxes and we offer a number of options for you:

Collect from our loading bay

Our Newcastle store has a vehicle loading bay outside. At the checkout, simply select ‘in-store collection’ and we will contact you with directions to the collection point.

Box dropoff

This is our default delivery option. When we deliver boxed items we will use DHL, our own driver, or occasionally a specialist piano mover (G & R Newcastle Ltd).

If you choose this option for delivery, please be aware that this is a ground floor delivery service only and where possible the box will be delivered inside the ground floor of the house. If there are stairs up to the front door, or if you live in a flat, it is at the delivery drivers discretion as to whether they can help bring the box inside the front door. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the customer in this instance to bring the piano into the address. If you want to house the piano in an upstairs room, the driver will not carry the box upstairs for you, the responsibility for moving the piano inside the house remains with the customer.

Boxed digital pianos can range in weight from 12kg to over 100kg. There are some models of piano that are either too bulky or too heavy to delivery via a dropoff service. Delivery options for these pianos are restricted to a specialist installation in order to ensure the safe arrival of the item.

If you have any questions about our box drop off service or would like any advice regarding how best to deliver your piano please give us a call on 0191 2602915.

Premium delivery and assembly*

If you are buying a ‘cabinet style’ piano rather than a ‘portable’ instrument many customers feel that the best option is specialist installation. We use the services of G & R Newcastle Ltd. This is a specialist piano removal company that we have worked with for many years, we hear nothing but great reports about the service they provide. Once you have selected your piano, we will forward your contact details to G & R Newcastle Ltd who will then contact you directly to arrange a mutually convenient delivery slot. They will unbox and assemble your new instrument and dispose of all packaging materials. This will give you the peace of mind that your precious instrument is handled with care and assembled correctly; the mountain of cardboard and polystyrene will also be taken care of!
Local piano deliveries are usually completed within 7 – 10 days and piano deliveries elsewhere in the UK usually within 2 – 3 weeks. G & R Newcastle Ltd also work in partnership with their sister companies Griffin Transport UK and Griffioen Transport to maximise piano delivery efficiency across the UK and mainland Europe. We have complete trust in the wealth of experience they bring to piano transportation.
