The most versatile piano ever!

CVP-900 Series digital pianos retain the expressive capability and playing feel of a grand piano while offering the ability to perform with sounds of a diverse array of musical instruments. Play along with backing bands provided by built-in accompaniment Styles, sing along with your performance, or enjoy the pure art of the piano – the CVP-900 lets you do it all.

Yamaha Cfx And Bösendorfer Imperial Voices
Clavinova grand piano sounds are recorded from several world-renowned concert grand pianos. One is the CFX, Yamaha’s top-flight concert grand piano. Pianists in concert halls around the world celebrate the impressive, dazzling and richly expressive sound of the CFX. Also sampled is the Bösendorfer Imperial, the flagship concert grand from the time-honoured Viennese manufacturer. The Imperial is famous for its abundance of tonal colour and natural, warm feeling. Yamaha faithfully reproduces the unique characters of these concert grand pianos by carefully recording the entire tonal range of each of the 88 keys, making minute adjustments to capture the most harmonious tones each piano has to offer.

Enjoy nuanced tonal variations in response to the way you play the keys, true-to-life reproductions of keyboard and pedal feel, and even the acoustics felt when you sit in front of a grand, all adding up to an authentic piano experience.

An Extensive Range Of Features For Endless Enjoyment
Connect a microphone and sing along as you play, perform along with built-in songs that are known and loved around the world, and connect to an App to record your performance. CVP Series digital pianos are packed with features that offer endless ways to enjoy your music

Featuring the latest GrandTouch™ Keyboards with a broad dynamic range of touch and response at the level of a grand piano. Excellent consistency and nuanced expression give the pianist the utmost control over touch

GrandTouch™ Keyboard
Yamaha’s latest keyboard action features a broad dynamic range and faithful response to every nuance of touch, placing a wide expanse of tone at the pianist’s fingertips — from delicate to bold. The highly consistent grand piano hammers replicate the pleasing response felt when the hammers strike the strings, enabling precise control of the tone. Highly absorbent synthetic-ivory white keys and synthetic-ebony black keys prevent slipping, even during extended play, and feel just like those of a grand piano

Grand Expression Modeling is a groundbreaking new technology that enables the limitless tonal variation typical of a grand piano in response to the pianist’s technique. The ability to vary the intensity and speed of touch to produce different tones adds a whole new dimension to the joy of musical expression

Sound Quality
Virtual Resonance Modeling performs realtime modeling of the sympathetic resonance created by the behavior of the strings and body of the instrument — the foundation of the beautiful sound of a genuine grand piano. And the latest acoustic design technology delivers lifelike concert grand piano tone and resonance to your home for you to enjoy.
In a grand piano, sound resonates throughout the body of the instrument, producing a rich reverberation that envelops the listener in sound. This phenomena is reproduced perfectly in the Clavinova through Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM). It calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard, from one instant to the next, and timing and depth of damper pedals pressed. This technology allows for vivid, bright, richly-varied expression that reflects the limitless number of factors inherent in piano performance.

Grand Acoustic Imaging
Yamaha's latest acoustic design and measurement technologies have been used to reproduce the sound field and imaging of a grand piano within the compact form of a digital instrument. The design focuses on the unique way that a grand piano radiates sound into the surrounding space, recreating the positional relationships heard in the sound of a grand piano with unerring accuracy. The CVP Series is designed to ensure that the piano sound stands out well when played as a solo instrument or when played together with accompanying Styles. The monitor speakers to the left and right of the control panel deliver a powerful sound that help the player to feel like they are playing with a band.

3-Way Speaker
This powerful 3-way system features mid and treble units, as well as bass speakers, which are available only on the CVP-909 and all units are optimally balanced and placed accordingly in the body to simulate the sound image of a grand piano.

Spruce Cone Speaker
Drawing from Yamaha's experience in building both acoustic pianos and high-end speakers, the CVP-909 speaker cones use pulp from the same spruce wood used to make acoustic piano sound boards. The result is a more natural, piano-like attack to the sound that is more piano-like when you play the keys.

Great Piano Sound, Even When Using Headphones
Binaural is a method of sampling in which special microphones are placed on a mannequin’s head in the same positions as the pianist’s ears to capture piano sounds the way that they are heard in reality. This method creates the ambience and full, natural resonance of acoustic pianos, with Clavinova players feeling as though they are sitting at a grand piano, even when they play with headphones. The experience is so engaging that it’s easy to forget that headphones are being worn, even for long performances. In CVP-900 Series pianos, binaural sampling is used for the Bösendorfer Imperial and Yamaha CFX. Yamaha achieves higher-definition binaural sound with a specially developed mannequin head and model ears used for the recording

Auto Backing Styles
Equipped with hundreds of Styles providing automatic accompaniment for your performance in a broad range of categories including pop, rock, country, jazz, soul, and Latin. Enjoy playing by yourself with a backing band or create arrangements in a variety of genres

Musical Instrument Voices
From breathy saxophones to ringing guitars and warm, resonant strings, the CVP-900 Series features an impressive collection of natural instrument Voices. Thanks to acclaimed Super Articulation technology, the distinctive characteristics of each instrument are reproduced in stunning detail as you play

A Built-In Range Of Popular Songs That You Can Sing Along With
Featuring 413 popular songs and classical pieces known and loved around the world, CVP-900 Series instruments even display the score as you perform. Guide lamps at the top of the keys show which keys to play, making these instruments ideal for learning and practice.Connect a microphone and enjoy singing along as you play, with the CVP digital piano offering harmonies and choruses for your voice. Delivering your new piano

How are you going to get your new instrument home? Digital pianos are supplied to us flat-packed in boxes and we offer a number of options for you:

Collect from our loading bay

Our Newcastle store has a vehicle loading bay outside. At the checkout, simply select ‘in-store collection’ and we will contact you with directions to the collection point.

A note on box sizes: All digital piano collections will require the back seats of a car to be folded down. Portable stage pianos fit relatively easily in most cars. Small cabinet pianos also fit in most cars. Larger digital pianos generally come in one big box that can be up to 100kg. These pianos would only fit in larger cars and small vans.

Box dropoff

This is our default delivery option. When we deliver boxed items we will use DHL, our own driver, or occasionally a specialist piano mover (Griffin Transport UK).

If you choose this option for delivery, please be aware that this is a ground floor delivery service only and where possible the box will be delivered inside the ground floor of the house. If there are stairs up to the front door, or if you live in a flat, it is at the delivery driver’s discretion as to whether they can help bring the box inside the front door. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the customer in this instance to bring the piano into the address. If you want to house the piano in an upstairs room, the driver will not carry the box upstairs for you, the responsibility for moving the piano inside the house remains with the customer.

Boxed digital pianos can range in weight from 12kg to over 100kg. There are some models of piano that are either too bulky or too heavy to delivery via a drop off service. Delivery options for these pianos are restricted to a specialist installation to ensure the safe arrival of the item.

If you have any questions about our box drop off service or would like any advice regarding how best to deliver your piano please give us a call on 0191 2602915.

Premium delivery and installation

If you are buying a ‘cabinet style’ piano rather than a ‘portable’ instrument many customers feel that the best option is specialist installation. We use the services of Griffin Transport UK. This is a specialist piano removal company that we have worked with for many years, we hear nothing but great reports about the service they provide. Once you have selected your piano, we will forward your contact details to Griffin UK who will then contact you directly to arrange a mutually convenient delivery slot. They will unbox and assemble your new instrument and dispose of all packaging materials. This will give you the peace of mind that your precious instrument is handled with care and assembled correctly; the mountain of cardboard and polystyrene will also be taken care of!

Local piano deliveries are usually completed within 7 – 10 days and piano deliveries elsewhere in the UK usually within 2 – 3 weeks.

JG Windows subsidises the cost of delivery to you, ensuring you receive a quality service at a reasonable price.
