More Information

The OM body shape produces a naturally responsive and voluminous tone which is further enhanced through the use of a classic combination of all-solid spruce and mahogany tonewoods. You can expect a sweet and warm voice delivered with superb poise and balance.

So, if you’re a guitarist with an affection for a truly authentic acoustic sound paired with a timeless vibe, the RS7SM delivers both in equal measure.

The 'OM' guitar was not designed to be large-bodied, given the context of its initial use. Similarly, early 'modern' guitars would not be considered large by today's standards. The 'OM-sized' Rathbone No.7 also isn't large-bodied, but it features a neck that joins the body at the 14th fret, resulting in a scale length familiar to most modern guitars.

This 'long' scale length, when first introduced, contributed to a remarkably powerful and dynamic tone, which some might consider disproportionate. The increased tension on the tuned strings, compared to shorter scale guitars, results in a significantly enhanced tonal response and 'punch'.
