Ghanaian Xylophone, 8 note
JGGAD8
These eight key Ghanaian xylophones are made in a traditional style seen in many areas of Africa. Also known as a balafon or balaphone, these lovely instruments are made using wooden keys which are attached in sequence to a wooden frame from which dried calabash gourds are hung. These gourds act as resonating chambers, increasing the volume and creating a characteristic tone.
