Selections from the works of 18th-century composers Elisabetta de Gambarini, Marianne Martinez, and Marianna d'Auenbrugg, compiled and edited by scholar, performer, and recording artist Barbara Harbach.
In the 18th centruy, condescending men spent too much time telling women to compose themselves. Well, it turns out these 3 maestras took it literally and served up some luscious music for the harpsichord. Thank god for Barbara Harbach, or we'd be none the wiser!
